Nelly Furtado Makeover

I noticed that PerezHilton, bless his heart, and a couple of other sites are pushing the newest single by Nelly Furtado. It's an okay song--Furtado is more a personality on it than an actual voice--so I can't help but think that the mentions it's getting on blogs are part of a paid-for promotional push.

All that aside, I find the video interesting for a couple of reasons. First off, how embarrassing is it for her is that she gets the I-can't-dance edit treatment? You know, only show brief flashes of her dancing so no one has time to suss out that she has no rhythym. And then too, it's interesting to see how she's been made over from her early days as a working-class Portuguese-Canadian pop-girl into the mysterious r&b exotica girl of some unknown ethnicity.
