WinkWorth: Brooklyn retail alert

There's a new boutique in Brooklyn called WinkWorth that gets a high recommend from me. It's located on 119 Columbia Street (tel: 718-243-2296), which faces the East River and is a bit of a weird spot given the dearth of foot traffic, but probably a good place from a rent-perspective to get the business on its feet.

In the image below (which comes from the April/May Bust magazine), you get a glimpse of the WinkWorth line in the form of a pair of bloomers.

To be frank, I don't think this exhibits the best of the label's line, though they do illustrate the line's whimsy, which is a theme that threads through the entire label. The most impressive parts of WinkWorth's line are the linen and batik-print dresses (which can be made-to-order for under $200) and its deeply soulful line of lingerie. If you can conjure up New Orleans back in the good ole days and what the slinkiest women there wore behind closed doors, you'll get an idea of WinkWorth's sultry line of slips and camis.

Note: the top is by Supayana and the shoes are by the current hottest boutique footwear line on the planet, Faryl Robin.
